The manor lay before like something from a dream. Never in all of your life have you seen such a magnificent estate. Yet tonight you were going to party in it with loads of high class people from all around London. The Earl Phantomhive and his butler stood at the front steps.
"We welcome you, Lady [name]," the butler bowed and held out his hand to help you down from the carriage.
"Th..thank you," you blushed nervously as the handsome man took your hand. You stepped down and sheepishly let go while looking down hoping the hat you wore covered your face.
"Welcome," the Earl greeted your mother as she too stepped down with the help of his butler.
"This is such a beautiful place, isn't it, [name]?" your mother asked you.
"Oh yes, very beautiful," you looked up to see her blue eyes sparkling. Her eyes were the same as yours only she was much taller. What was amusing is the fact she was taller than the butler. This made you happy to be done growing. A man likes a woman he can hold to his chest, not the other way around.
"Follow me to your rooms," the butler said, snapping you from your thoughts.
Throughout the halls you glanced around at every painting and looked through every room with an open door. Such a place had your curiosity peaked and it was a wonderful place.
"Here is the room for the youngest miss," the butler led you through a door to a room with a canopy bed and wardrobe opposite of it. A window lay against the farthest wall revealing the front of the manor. The shut of the door made you jump and you realized the butler went off with your mother to leave you alone and prepare for the evening. It was obvious. You've been to balls before, just not at such an enormous home.
Your mother was the reason you two were to stay the night. She had some business with the Earl and you were just there to tag along. Balls have always bored you and you were never asked to dance, you preferred not to.
Evening settled in leaving an eerie light in the room. The curtains drawn shut and a candelabra lay on the night stand. Dressed in your finest clothes of silk and a gorgeous shade of [colour]. A knock came at the door and it opened to reveal a young girl in pink and curly pigtails.
"My Fiancé told me you'd be up here," she squealed. "I'm Elizabeth Midford, but everyone calls me Lizzy!" she introduced in a perky tone.
"I'm [name]," you told her.
"I know that, silly. Now come on or you'll miss the party," she grabbed or gloved hand in hers and dragged you out of the room.
"I thought the butler was to escort my mother and I down," you stated.
"Instead you got me, your mother is already down there," Lizzy informed. "By the way you look so adorable," she gushed.
The walk to the ballroom was swift with the excited, young girl in front dragging you. Sighing you followed her every step until the sound of laughter and chatter could be heard. People entered through the front doors and went into the ballroom. Lizzy and you went down the main stairwell and followed into the crowded room. Already it was a drag. More people to treat you like a child even though you were old enough to live on your own. The only reason you didn't is because mummy wanted you to study University with her tutors.
"I'm going to leave you now, you take care of yourself all right?" Lizzy let go of your hand and wondered on over to Ciel. By the looks of it she was the Earl's fiancé. Then you mentally slapped yourself for not remembering that detail.
Walking over to the snack bar you pondered over what treats to try since dancing was out of the question. At every party or big event you were dragged to you remained on your own. Never being the big party type you vowed when you were old to never host such occasions.
"What are you doing here all alone?" a voice startled you. A blonde haired male quickly took hold of you and ran his fingers down the loose ends of your [colour] hair. "What a beautiful bird you are," he cooed.
"Please let go," you pushed against his chest.
"Now why would I do that?" he practically sang in amusement. It was then you realized who this was. It was the pervert the Viscount Druitt who had been arrested twice now.
"I believe the lady asked you to release her," the Phantomhive butler came to the rescue.
"Oh, is she yours. I'm sorry," the Viscount gave him a nervous look and left in the other direction.
"Thank you," you said brushing a strand of hair behind your ear.
"It was no problem, my lady. What were you planning on doing over here all alone?" he questioned.
"Just eat," you confessed, blush forming on your innocent face.
"You're at a ball and all you want to do is eat?"
"Y..yes," you stuttered.
"That is not good at all, a lady should dance, not gorge on food by herself," he held out his hand.
"Oh, no I shouldn't," you declined.
"I may be a butler, but I am simply one hell of a dancer," he smirked. Those deep redish-brown eyes seemed to bare into your very soul. Heart pounding you grabbed his hand and was instantly dragged onto the dance floor. Music began to play and you tried your very hardest to follow the butler's movements. "You lack form, have you ever danced with a partner before?"
"No, umm, I don't know your name," you confessed.
"You may call me Sebastian," he smiled. You looked away trying to hide your face once again. "Just follow my foot steps," Sebastian instructed. "Also try not to cling onto your partner." Stepping lightly with your left foot, you accidentally stomp on his shoes.
"Sorry," you apologized.
"No apology needed," Sebastian stopped moving and brought your chin up to peer once again into those eyes. A warm feeling spread across your face leading you to believe you were blushing deeply. It felt like you stood there staring at him for hours until the song ended and everyone went on with conversation. "Now I must be going, I have guests to serve," he stepped away and bowed leaving you dumbfounded in that spot.
The night progressed and ended the way all balls do. There only remained one difference. You left the ballroom with a smile on your face. Sebastian was all you could think about. Those perfect eyes, lips, hair, body, everything!
"Bye, [name]," you heard Lizzy call as she passed by with what seemed to be her maid beside her. The manor emptied of all its guests, all but you and your mother. A yawn escaped your lips and you began up the stairs then paused.
"It appears you forgot the way to your room," a familiar voice said behind you. Turning around you glanced at Sebastian with Lord Phantomhive beside him.
"I'll wait for you in my study," the Earl said to Sebastian. Ciel began walking up the stairs and whispered as he passed you. "Your mother is already there so don't worry."
An arm went around your shoulders and you looked up at Sebastian. "Follow me."
This walk seemed quicker than the last. The candelabra in his hand was the only source of lighting. "Thank you, again. Umm just thank you for everything you did tonight. I... I'm sorry. I know you said I don't need to thank you earlier, but I thought I should you know. You were so kind to me, and..." then the feeling of smooth lips interrupted your words. His lips were against yours and you would have been a fool to not have kissed back. Pure bliss ran through your body. Only when he came up did a huge feeling of disappointment settle in.
"Good night, my lady," Sebastian said before heading off in the direction in which you had come. In a zombie like daze you walked into the room, shut the door, and sat on the bed. This was the best night ever.
